BioWednesday is the regular member networking forum for One Nucleus members and contacts held monthly in London. The events attract 70-100 attendees and provides an excellent platform through which to showcase potential business opportunities, debate key issues and stimulate new relationships.

Hosted by Olswang LLP at their central London offices, Wednesday 3 February 2016 will see an extended BioWednesday session in order to incorporate a 'Sweden Showcase' ahead of the normal format. Up to six Swedish Life Science companies will present their technology or service offer along with their business and partnering goals. The session will be moderated by Lucy Robertshaw. The subsequent panel discussion will then focus on partnering between Biopharma and digital technology companies within the Digital Health arena.

Companies presenting:

Mattias Nyström - APL - wants to meet with companies that are developing pharmaceuticals, both small molecules as well as biologics. We offer fill/finish services and are able to supply clinical trial material, including randomization and labelling for clinical trials in a wide range of dosage forms, sterile and non-sterile. In addition to our manufacturing services we offer formulation development, analytical services and stability studies. APL also provides commercial manufacturing in small to medium scale and is an ideal partner for orphan drug and other niche products.

Stefan Ulvenlund - CR Competence AB (CRC) - wants to meet companies that develop pharmaceuticals comprising small organic molecules or peptides. CRC is a contract research organisation that provides services within formulation development, process optimisation and advanced analysis, as well as education (seminars and courses) within these areas. Our fields of expertise include formulation strategies for poorly soluble compounds, liquid formulations for inhalation and assessment of aggregation of peptides. We work in close collaboration with academia and have access to state-of-the-art instruments, particularly surface characterisation techniques, NMR spectroscopy (diffusion, solid state, multidimensional) and scattering techniques.

Lena Heffler – Philips BioCell will focus on their automated scanning microscope, the oCelloScope system. One of the applications they see the potential for in oCelloScope is AST, antibiotic susceptibility testing. oCelloScope has proven to reveal unknown information in this area and earlier in time than conventional methods do. This opens for the opportunity to test many concentrations/combinations of antimicrobial agents at a faster rate
