Infectious Diseases – NHS, Public Health and R&D Strategies

For the NHS to cope with infectious disease, in terms of seasonal peaks and long term resistance, requires new approaches. Leveraging technologies to enable improved diagnosis and containment within the hospital setting is one area of advancement, but supporters from the Life Sciences field are also playing their role. Whilst Public Health England’s continuing global surveillance of trends and outbreaks enables healthcare systems to be better prepared, investment in the discovery and development of innovative new antimicrobial research is providing new medicines to combat resistance.

Developments in the M11 corridor will fortunately result in co-locating excellence in all the above areas. This free seminar will have three leading groups presenting on their own activities in order to stimulate discussion on how best this excellence can be integrated for better healthcare outcomes.
