17:30 - 20:30

Location:
Tamburlaine Hotel, 27-29 Station Road, Cambridge CB1 2FB
Date:
27 June 2018

Several reports including ‘From the Golden Gate to the Golden Triangle’ highlighted the increasing investments from the US, especially the west coast, in UK innovative companies. They represented 252% more deals in 2017 compared to 2011 cross tech sectors. This trend also applies to life sciences where we’ve seen a total value of deals of £472M in the same period, coming directly from west coast investors.

The increase of both number and volume of deals reflects an appetite not only for early stage technologies but also for scaling up support.
Arguments in favour of UK life sciences often quoted are the excellence of science, talent pool and the lower valuations compared to American standards.

This event will review these trends with data and real examples, and will explore on how to build on this dynamic to strengthen the life science sector on both sides of the Atlantic.
